The Witmark Demos Are Coming Soon and Word Is the Vinyl Masters Sound Killer

The Witmark Demos Are Coming Soon and Word Is the Vinyl Masters Sound Killer: "

The Witmark Demos, Bob DylanThe latest Bob Dylan release, The Witmark Demos, are coming soon to a 4-LP vinyl set just in time for the holiday shopping season. The Witmark Demos are 47 songs that Dylan recorded in New York between 1962 and 1964 for his publisher at the time, Leeds Music and M. Witmark & Sons. The set includes 15 previously unreleased songs and contains the first recordings of classics "Blowing in the Wind" and "The Times They Are A-Changing". God knows those publishers made some money off "Blowing in the Wind".

We're pretty stoked about this release in any format, but the word is that it sounds especially nice on vinyl. CNET reports that reissue producer Steve Berkowitz 'was especially pleased with the way The Witmark Demos transferred to vinyl; he credits engineer Mark Wilder for his stellar work and bringing in the best technology to serve the music.'

This one is going into The Bootleg Series as Volume 9. It comes out October 19, and you can bet that Daily Vinyl will be looking for it in our stocking this December. Read more at CNET.
