KPRI In San Diego Is Giving Vinyl A Spin Again!

KPRI In San Diego Is Giving Vinyl A Spin Again!: "

Kpri logo san diego radioWe noticed a cool story today on Sign on San Diego, a local radio station is starting to spin vinyl on the air again! KPRI/102.1 FM started putting records live on the air in June when they started their 'Album Sides Wednesdays" program, a day devoted to playing entire sides of vinyl records.

The radio station's co-owner Jonathan Schwarts said, “I am a finance guy, and I always look at everything in terms of what it will do to the ratings. But when I heard (Bruce Springsteen’s) ‘The River’ come on the air that first day, it hit me right between the eyes,” Schwartz said. “Somebody might decide to turn us off because they never liked a particular album, but they might come back for a different side later. And if they don’t, I just hope they can respect what we’re trying to do here.”

Right on! We think it's a really cool idea here at DailyVinyl and if you live out in San Diego, make sure you tune in to KPRI today and every Wednesday to support the movement! If you don't live in San Diego you can listen live here!
