Playing A Record With A Cardboard Record Player

Playing A Record With A Cardboard Record Player: "

card talk record player

Note to all of you audiophiles out there, you may now want to look away from the post as this record player's quality might upset you....

Ok, so all of you who have hung around, we found this record player the other day and wanted to share it with you. Although not the greatest sounding device, its pretty neat to see a vinyl played with such a simplistic device. The player is called a CardTalk and was first created in the late 1940s by The World Literature Crusade, a religious organization, to help spread their ministry throughout the world.

Now the CardTalk is used on rare promotional occasions, one of which we ran into recently. Have a look at the instructional video below of a man using one in Northern Africa. It could possibly be the most difficult terrane to have to use a CardTalk, and the video itself is also one of the most uncomfortable things we have ever watched. Watch out for all that 'stinking wind' that blows this guys CardTalk all over the place!
