NPR has a fun game up on their blog right now that's a version of 'name that tune' for drum fills. We're anxiously awaiting our final score and clues about Drum Fill 7 and 9. Give it a try and see if you can help us crack those two.
***Update: They've published the answers. We were close. 8 out of 10 isn't bad, and #7 was really hard.
Here's what we got:
- Drum Fill 1 - Peter Bjorn and John - 'Young Folks'
- Drum Fill 2 - Led Zeppelin - 'Rock and Roll'
- Drum Fill 3 - Jesus and Mary Chain - 'Just Like Honey' (why are people commenting over at NPR thinking this is 'Be My Baby'?)
- Drum Fill 4 - The Beatles - 'Something' (you gave away too much of the guitars on that one NPR)
- Drum Fill 5 - Iggy Pop - 'Lust For Life'
- Drum Fill 6 - Pink Floyd - 'Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)' (you can hear the word 'wall' in the reverb trailing out at the beginning of the fill)
- Drum Fill 7 - ??? (We need to phone a friend. Sounds like Joy Division)
- Drum Fill 8 - Phil Collins - 'In The Air Tonight'
- Drum Fill 9 - any live recording by Santana or possibly Rush
- Drum Fill 10 - Tears for Fears - 'Head Over Heals'
