Local Store: Dusty Groove America

Local Store: Dusty Groove America: "

Dusty Groove America, Chicago record store, exterior viewIf you are looking for rock and pop vinyl this is really not your place. Dusty Groove America is instead stacked with some of the best soul and jazz records on the planet. It has been a staple in the Chicago record collecting scene for years, and it still is one of the best places to shop when you are in the windy city. They have a huge selection of hard to find jazz records that are always in great shape; they also have a good collection of experimental 60s tracks and lounge music. As with all local record shops the selection is great, but the staff is always what makes the store, and the Dusty Groove staff is awesome. They're always friendly and never adversed to digging through their crates to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

We have read that some consider Dusty Groove to be on the expensive side, but we can honestly say they seem to be right in the ball park. Some of those records are pretty rare, and they have a really good sound rating system to ensure that you are getting the best quality on hand. The one bummer that we noticed at Dusty Groove was that there are no listening stations, which is something that we really like to have when purchasing. All in all though, Chicago's Dusty Groove is one of our personal favorites when we are looking to buy some of the more obscure stuff and looking to expand the genres in our collection.
