What a great treat yesterday was. We had one of our favorite bands, Frightened Rabbit, in town and got a two for one performance! The first was an intimate show at a local favorite of ours, Sound Fix Records in WIlliamsburg, Brooklyn. Scott and Gordon pulled out a couple of acoustic guitars and played tracks off their latest release The Winter of Mixed Drinks, and 2008's The Midnight Organ Fight. The place was packed with people and we were lucky enough to get escorted past the PA wire into the backstage section of the acoustic in store. It was super cool since we had plenty of space to enjoy the show, but it kind of sucks for you guys because we could only really got shots of Scott's back. And to top it off we just had our iPhones on us so the video is not quite HD or anything. Nonetheless, I don't think you will be disappointed with this killer performance of 'Backwards Walk.'
We have some real pictures of the Webster Hall show coming too, but our picture taker, friend, and Daily VInyl contributor is still passed out. When the Rabbits come to town it's always a bit of a party so we wound up hanging out until their bus left for Boston. To be continued...
