Exciting News! David Byrne Ignored Seth Godin: "

We'll admit that we're Seth Godin fans here at Daily Vinyl. That dude says lots of smart things about the Internet.

And it goes without saying that we're massive David Byrne supporters. I mean, has there ever been a more tasteful use of a synthesizer in recorded music than 'This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)'?

But, Godin had a post today where he talks about how David Byrne snubbed him recently.

'I recently bumped into David (he of Talking Heads fame) at a conference. Our paths have crossed before, we share a few friends, I'm a big fan and he uses permission marketing to sell his records now. I said 'hi.'

David's eyes flashed, he turned his shoulders, muttered something and rushed away.'

Seth, you're reading too much into this. David Byrne is a legit rock star. Not like an internet rock star like you. He's had a life of weirdos coming up and saying "hi". We wouldn't think too much about it if we were you.

But we will say that this looks like another case of internet people wishing they were rock stars. Can you dudes please stop trying? (We're looking at you Jason Calacanis, Guy Kawasaki and Mark Zuckerberg. And, if you're reading this post and you don't know those people, don't wory about.) Anyways, you guys should make badass rock and roll if you want to be rock stars.  In fact, can all you twitterers just stop using the word rock star? That would be awesome.

So, in summary to this rant, we leave you with a very delicious taste for your mouth: the Stop Making Sense version of 'This Must Be The Place'. Enjoy.
